How are women doing relative to men?
Professor Sommers explains that, “…I routinely encounter students who have fully accepted
the feminist propaganda. American college women are arguably the most fortunate,
liberated beings on the planet -- yet in their feminist theory classes they are likely to learn
that they are put upon and tyrannized by men.” Why do you think this is the case? Why
do some people believe the propaganda, when the evidence doesn’t support it? What
fundamental conditions precipitate young people being ‘duped’ into embracing the victim
mentality, even people who have not experienced such victimization first hand?

Our culture Has made a stereotype against all males. They portray males has stupid and dumb not only in schools but in families as well. We can look at TV shows, Children's TV show, and how they portray a father and the male figure. More than often the father has a pathetic job and acts dumb around his children and the mother has to step up and be the one to discipline and take over the home. Sometimes the father doesn't even have a job and appears to be the housewife in the family while the mother works an important job as a lawyer or doctor. It used to be that if a woman wanted to work as a construction worker the people on duty would place her as the sign Holder. Nowadays if you make these assumptions it is a crime against all females. Now we see that it is often the males holding the signs and the women working on the site no matter what the female can do and CANNOT do. Our society has made stereotypes against males and our culture is listening and agreeing to them.
I think women are buying this because they get benefits from it. Furthermore, they are getting their brains washed and they just end up believing the lies. Many people believe the facts without even thinking about it. Half the people would believe it for fact if they were scrolling through Instagram and they saw a page saying Hitler Found Alive! To be honest, I feel bad for these people because they don't have as good an education as we do and they don't realize that they are hurting themselves with feminism. The fake facts that they get fed every single day that men are viscous, evil, abusive, and mean... it becomes fact to them. As if they don't know or have never hear any other truth.
I think that so many people think that they are oppressed because it means that they have done nothing wrong, and it therefore means that they are the ones who deserve justice. So many people are inclined to believe all the propaganda because mainly it benefits them and they are selfish. When someone is selfish they can go so far as to not realize the answer when it is right in front of them and to continue to do only what will benefit them. If a person grows up their whole life being either told what to do or expected to act a certain way, or even if they go through one thing that can make their point of view change forever, this will pave way for someone to tell them that they deserve better. Once they get that into their brain, it will never leave. They will always believe that they are the ones who have been pushed away, they are the ones who deserve justice. When they get into this mindset, need someone to blame for all their problems. There is always a bad guy in the story, in this case I mean that quite literally. They make the guys, out to be the villain. If only their father hadn't pushed them so hard, or if only their brother hadn't expected them to be better, then things will be fine. That is how they come up with the idea that they need to push for their own rights, they need to make sure that what they went through never happens to any other girl.
